Abstract

The family Crambidae is represented in the GDR by 42 species, two of which (Catoptria conchella und C. mytilella) were included here as mentioned in the early literature although their occurance could not be confirmed by recent investigations. Based on an intimate study of literature and a revision of all collections available their distribution on the territory of the GDR as like as dates on life history are recorded. The key for the identification of the species is illustrated by a total 42 figures of male and female genitalia and 51 coloured illustrations of the right forewings of nearly all the species included.
