Abstract

The Opiinae (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) collected by the author during the years 1968, 1969 and 1973 in the Ötztal (Austria, Tyrol) are referred to. The results of the collections 1969 and 1973 are studied in detail. The frequency of the species was stated in absolute numbers as well as in percentage of the samples. In the Ötztal 40 species belonging to the genus Opius and 9 belonging to Biosteres are registered as yet. One of them, Opius pirchitticola, is described as new. A comparison of the samples of all Braconids of three levels of altitude, this is 1200 m, 1450-1500 m, and 1900-1950 above sea level, collected in 1973, is made. The number of Opiinae collected in 1900-1950 m is not only smaller absolutely but also its percentage of the total number of the Braconids collected declines to less than the half. The distribution of some species is discussed. The share of the Opiinae fauna of the Ötztal is compared with that known of the World, the palearctic fauna and the fauna of Austria. 11 species are new to the fauna of Austria.
