Abstract

The expedition to Albania by Deutsches Entomologisches Institut yielded 72 Megachilidae of 33 species, 21 of which were new in Albania. Taxonomical remarks on a number of species are added, including the synonymy newly established on the basis of the type material under consideration. The following subgenera are presented as new: Hoplitis (Allosmia) subgen. nov. with the type-species Osmia rufohirta Latreille, 1811, Osmia (neosmia) subgen. nov. with the type-species Osmia gracilicornis Pérez, 1895, Osmia (Monosmia) subgen. nov. with the type-species Osmia apicata Smith, 1853, and Coelioxys (Allocoelioxys) subgen. nov. with the type-species Coeloxys afra Lepeletier, 1841. Hoplitis (Hoplitis) adunca contraria ssp. nov. is described from the Iberian Peninsula.
