Recherches sur les Mutillides de l‘Afrique - VII Dentotilla gen. nov. (Hymenoptera: Mutillidae).

Abstract

The new genus discribed in this paper actually includes 13 species, eight of which are new, as well as five new chromatic forms: procerula spec. nov. (f); cyprassaeformis (Bischoff) (f); argenteopunctata spec. nov. (f) eremita spec. nov. (m) auricoma (Bischoff) (m) with the f. allbofimbriata nov.(m); garuana (Bischoff) (m,f) and the chromatic forms lachnomosa f. nov. (m), fuscifrons f. nov. (m) leucotaenia f. nov. (f) and erythrogastra f. nov. (f); pavesii (Magretti) (m); aurataeformis (Bischoff) (m,f); mpandaana spec. nov. (m); crassa spec. nov. (f): pedemontana spec. nov. (m); concavolabris spec. nov. (m) and zambiana spec. nov. (m). Only for two species both males (m) and females (f) are known. The previously described taxa belonging to the new genus Dentotilla had been included in the genera Trogaspidia and Glossotilla. the males of Dentotilla can easily be distinguished by a series of morphological peculiaritites, especially by the presence of a tooth on the posterior coxa, the females by a pair of supplementary pubescent spots on the posterior marging of the second tergite as well as by the obliteration of the posterior margin of the thorax; some of the females are characterised also by a basally broadened second abdominal segment and by lateral carinae on the second sternite.
