Abstract

The fourth contribution to the catalogue of types in the collection of Diptera in the Department of Taxonomy of Insects of the Institute of Plant Protection Research (former Deutsches Entomologisches Institut) includes all types of the suborder Brachycera downt to the subspecies. The species are listed in alphabetical order within the families which are arranged and named according to the "Catalog of the Diptera of America North of Mexico" (1965). In cases of contradictions between the original quotation and the data given in the collection, explanations are attempted. Notes rever to the state of preservation of the specimes.
