Abstract

14 species of Scopariinae are to be found in the GDR. Their biology is largely unexplored, and little is known about their food plants. Such faunistic data are lacking especially for the districts of Suhl, Cottbus and Schwerin. In some cases it is difficult to distinguish the species by external characteristics (marking of the fore-wing) or by the genital apparatus. This applies particulary to Witlesia resinella and Witlesia laetella. To facilitate determination, drawings of the male and female genitals of all species (except Scoparia ulmella) and of the rigth fore-wing of nine species are presented.
