Abstract

The importance of observing the priority and the continuity in the development of a system of terms is shown at the example of Meigen's nomenclature of Diptera. Theses are formulated for the scope of a systematology, its purposes and its frame-work of methods which includes classification, formation of terms and phylogenetic reconstruction. The discussion centres on the connection between classification, term and system of terms and nomenclature, which is demonstrated at examples.
