Abstract

The biology of the white-line dart moth (Scotia segetum Schiffermüller) and the present state of its supervision and control in the agriculture and the field vegetable growing in the GDR are described. Its attacks since 1976 are discussed with regard to the marked dependence of the occurrence of the ground caterpillar on weather conditions, and they are analysed with a view to first empirical forecasts of attacks.
