Abstract

Populations development of the Colorado beetle is simulated by SIMLEP from spring emergence of adults till the end of September. Population has been subdivided into compartments: adults, eggs, larvae (1-2 instar), larvae (3-4 instar), pupae. Ecological factors as air temperature, rainfall, relative air humidity and crop status (quality, quantity) are considerend. - Insecticide application is not taken into account in the first model version. Change of compartment status is realized discretely. Ecological relationships are solved deterministically. They are mainly based upon ecophysiological data, available in international publications, and supplementary experiments. Verification of SIMLEP will by made with 5 years field data. The programme is written in Fortran. SIMLEP is to be used as an effective tool for decisions-making in practical plant protection.
