Abstract

The technique of pitfall traping is detailed presented. The authors worked with catching-alive traps. The so-called "specific trap-index" and the "theoretical catching" as technical parameters are suggested to distinguish the equipment on traps of a territory under the conditions of catching alive. - The activity density and the abundance are available as quantitative results of traping. A formula for the calculation of the abundance from activity density and radius of action is derived. The radius of action to calculate the abundance from the activity density has to be found for every traping and every species in a special way using the capture-recapture method. The qualitative analysis has to be effected under notice of the bigness-relations and the production-ecological position of the animals in the ecosystem. There is presented a bigness-classification of macroscopic fauna from the bigness of 0,6 mm to 2500 mm. The dispersion has to be calculated by a common formula in order to do the structural analysis of traping.
