Beiträge zur Insektenfauna der DDR: Lepidoptera - Notodontidae.

Abstract

On the territory of the GDR 32 Notodontidae are to be found, whose distribution is shown by dot maps prepared on the basis of more than 5.000 finds. For each species the bionomy (with data about its flying period, its biotope requirements, its belonging to an ecological group of lepidoptera and the food plants of its caterpillars) and the variation of the imagines in the GDR, the total distribution of the species and their belonging to a faunal element in the sense of de Lattin are discussed. The zoogeographical analysis showed 35% mediterran, 31% mongolic-western sibiric, 25% manchurian and 9% pacific-palaearctic elements in our fauna of Notodontidae. Recommendations for practical wildlife protection are given with special regard to the Notodontidae.
