Beiträge zur Insekten-Fauna der DDR: Hymenoptera - Pompilidae.

Abstract

On the family of Pompilidae, 87 species have been established for the GDR. The occurrence of 9 other species is probable. Seven species are new for this territory. This paper presents key prepared under the most modern taxonomic aspects. After evaluation of the literature and revision of all the available material, the species are listed with their best known synonymies, their most distinctive characteristics, the relevant literature, their habits, food and parasites. The paper is based on the determination of nearly 8.000 specimens. It is the first comprehensive study in thes field for the territory of the GDR since 1927 and provedes a foundation for the further examination of this family.
