Abstract

The 7. contribution concerning the weevils auf the GDR deals with the subfamily Curculioninae consting of the following tribes: Ellescini, Acalyptini, Tychiini, Anthonomini, Curculionini. All species of Central Europe are discussed, covering 10 genera and 88 species. 10 genera and 68 species occur on the territory of the GDR. Each of the Central European species is treated under the following aspects: host plants, mode of life, general distribution, occurrence in Central Europe and, in cases of agricultural or forest pests, economic significance. For the species extant in the GDR the distribution in the 15 districts of the Republic is established. These data were abtained by the study of publications, evaluation of the most important collections and by the author's made especially to the faunistically less explored districts of the GDR.
