Abstract

The ant species Epimyrma birgitae n. sp. is described from Teneriffa (Canary Islands, Spain). Descriptions are given for females and males. The species is morphologically related to Epimyrma algeriana Cagniant, 1968 from North Africa. Zoogeographic aspects are discussed.
