Abstract

Eusphalerum zanettii sp. n. from flowers of Primula veris in the Maleshevska Planina (locus typicus) and from flowers of Primula elatior from the northern part of the Pirin Planina both in southwestern Bulgaria, from Mavrovo in the Republic Macedonia, and from the Vlaši Planina in Bosnia and Herzegovina is described and compared with the related Eusphalerum robustum (Heer, 1839), E. morator Zanetti, 1986, and E. kahleni Zanetti, 1986 for two of them additional material is reported. The aedeagus, the copulatory sclerite of the aedeagus, and the accessory sclerites of the female of the new species, as well as the copulatory sclerites of the related species are figured. Most of the examined specimens of the Eusphalerum robustum group have a third median ocellus, which is considered to be an atavistic character.
