The above publication discusses all species (Section C) of the genus Opius Wesm. s. str., the mesonotum of which is not foveolated, and the sternauli being crenulated or rugose. There are included into this section several species of economic importance: Opius dacicida Silo, (parasite of Dacus oleae Rossi), O. concolor Szépl. (parasite of D. oleae and Ceratitis capitata Wied.), O. fletcheri Silo, (parasite of C. capitata, D. cucurbitae Coq., and ferrugineus F.), and O. rhagoleticolus Sachtl. (parasite of Rhagoletis cerasi L.). Opius györfii (from Hungary) and O. rudiformis (from Czecho-Slovakia, England and Finland) are described as new.
