Phylogenetische Untersuchungen über die Sericini (sensu Dalla Torre 1912) (Coleoptera: Lamellicornia, Melolonthidae).

Abstract

There is studied the position of the Sericini (sensu Dalla Torre) within the system of Melolonthidae. The characters distinguishing the Sericini are examined as to their value for phylogenetic statements. So the Sericini proved to be a monophyletic group of subfamily rank, including 3 Tribus: Diphucephalini, Camentini, Sericini, the latter of which can be divided once more into 3 Subtribes: Phyllotocina, Sericina, Trochalina. All these groups prove themselves to be special directions of development by the possession of autapomorph characters. There is also given a Catalogue of the genera.
