Abstract

There is presented a morphological investigation on the male copulatory complex of Lygaeus equestris L. (Pentatomoidea) und Philaenus spumarius L. (Cicadoidea) based upon exact drawings, which are explained by short remarks on the terminology recently compiled in Tuxen's „Taxonomist's Glossary of Genitalia in Insects" by Dupuis and Carvalho for the Heteroptera and by Ossiannilsson, Russell and Weber for the Homoptera respectively. The above work is to show the need of an intimate study, the results of which must be explained by well prepared drawings an to induce further investigations on other species of the Rhynchota.
