Abstract

From a study of Rössler's original specimens of "Tinea moeniella" from Bilbao (North Spain) it becomes obvious, that there were mixed two species belonging to two families and already described by Haworth and Herrich-Schäffer respectively. By means of lectotype selection moeniella Rössler is sunk as a synonym of Lichenovora nigripunctella (Hw.), (Tineidae), the other specimens being determined as Eumasia parietariella (H. S.), (Psychidae).
