Abstract

As part of the study of the Micropterigidae of Albania, a survey is given of the distribution of this family in the Balkan countries as it is known at present. Nearly all data are based on material which the author investigated. While 13 species of Micropterix have been identified in the Balkan peninsula, only 3 species are known from Albania. One of these species (M. myrtetella Zeller), 58 individuals of which were collected in the expedition to Albania by Deutsches Entomologisches Institut, is new in the fauna of Albania.
