Abstract

The present paper deals with the Geometridae collected by Dr. G. Friese on his tour of Albania in 1959 and during the expedition to Albania by Deutsches Entomologisches Institut in 1961. They total 705 individuals of 126 species. Of these, 28 species are new in the fauna of the People's Republic of Albania and two species, Eupithecia dodoneata Guenee and Ortholitha octodurensis Favre (a darkened form of which is described as obscurata nov. ab.), are new in the Balkan peninsula. A survey is added of all Geometridae known from Albania (242 species), which shows the publications that record finds in Albania.
