Abstract

The Zygaenidae collected by the expedition to Albania by Deutsches Entomologisches Institut totaled 167 individuals of 13 species, 4 of them Procris species and 9 Zygaena species. 4 species and one form were new in the territory of the People's Republic of Albania (Procris globulariae Hübner, P. statices Linne, P. statices f. (semisp. ?) drenowskii Alberti, Zygaena scabiosae Scheven and Z. meliloti Esper). Thus 23 species are now known from Albania. The problems of assessing some species in the field of semi-species are briefly pointed out. Finally the species known from larger areas of the Central and Southern Balkan are tabulated.
