Ergebnisse der Albanien-Expedition 1961 des Deutschen Entomologischen Institutes. 57. Beitrag. Diptera: Stratiomyidae.

Abstract

This paper deals with the Stratiomyidae collected by the expedition to Albania by Deutsches Entomologisches Institut in 1961. They totaled 205 individuals of 12 species. Of these, 9 species and a new subspecies had not been known in Albania. A short historical survey of the study of Stratiomyidae in the Balkan peninsula and a table of all species found there so far are followed by a systematic description of the 15 species now known from Albania. It was established that Nemotelus fraternus Loew, recently regarded as ssp. to Nemotelus pantherinus (Linne), is a synonym of Nemotelus pantherinus (Linne).
