Abstract

The collection of Trypetidae made in the course of the expedition to Albania by Deutsches Entomologisches Institut includes 257 individuals of 30 species, 19 of which are new in Albania, while 2 species (Euribia sibynata Rondani and Orellia winthemi Meigen) are new in the Balkan peninsula. This material also furnishes data for the description of a new form of Tephritis vespertina Loew (dajtica f. n.). The study of the material of the expedition is followed by a survey of the Trypetidae known from Albania and the Balkan peninsula. At present 108 species have been found on the Balkan peninsula and 46 species on the territory of the People's Republic of Albania.
