Abstract

The present paper is the first part of a revision of Strobl's collection of Diptera. Further surveys of the evaluated material will be published as the occasion arises. They will include both the main collection and Strobl's "collection of types" which was preserved as a separate body in the restoration of the collection. - The first part covers 1890 specimens (Acalyptrata only). The preface describes the present state of the collection and details and methods of its revision by the author.
