Abstract

The bibliography of keys of European insects, part I, lists 3296 titles, arranged alphabetically according to their authors, concerning the orders of insects Thysanura to Siphonaptera. It covers the publications from 1880 to 1963 that contain keys down to groups of species, including the young stages, certain injurious insects and parasites. The bibliography begins with the chapter "Insecta varia", which contains publications relating to several or all of the orders comprehended by part 1. Collective works, faunae, determinative studies and papers of a general nature are to be found under this heading. They are followed by the keys of the different orders arranged according to Imms 1957. The bibliography is concluded by a register which refers to the respective systematic category, the author and the year of the publication.
