Abstract

The papers left by Sommer include his worldwide business correspondence, of which extracts are given, and 72 letters from 35 correspondents which chiefly relate to the voyage to Brazil and the West coast of Africa made in 1832, by C. H. Bescke, from whom Sommer had general power of attorney.
